Who we are ?
The objective of Fountain Foundation International is to empower vulnerable communities, especially women and youth, in the Great Lakes Region. By fostering self-reliance, entrepreneurial projects, and by building capacities Fountain Foundation aim to uplift the livelihoods of the vulnerable communities in the Great Lakes Region. Burundi and the Democratic Republic of Congo have the potential not only to feed themselves but also to become major food suppliers for the rest of the world.
















Fountain Foundation has the following overriding objectives:
- Assist farmers to adopt sustainable production methods and to raise agricultural incomes;
- Entrepreneurship development in all part production and supply chain from inputs, production up to retail;
- Expand economic opportunities for young people and women to facilitate cross-border trade and business.


Food systems goals per project
Great Lakes Region of Africa: The region has many opportunities and common initiatives despite tensions among its core countries. Cross-border trade, common infrastructures, and common border security zones operations have shown that regional integration is possible within the region. Cross-border trade between nations in the Great Lakes Region of Africa is crucial to sustaining peace and security in central Africa.
The Democratic Republic of Congo is home to the second biggest rainforest
in the world, this vital with regards to the international climate objectives
and the commitment to transit to resource-efficient, competitive green
circular economies, clean technologies, and the restoration of biodiversity
and cut pollution.

Our Vision
Fountain Foundation International aims to make a lasting impact in the lives of people affected by food insecurity and malnutrition and who are living in poverty. By enabling entrepreneurship development, rural development, job creation and technological advancement Fountain Foundation International will be able to help the people in the Great Lakes Region of Africa predominantly living in the rural areas to raise incomes and have access to basic services and ultimately achieve food system change.
